The Emperor’s New Clothes
The Lyric, Theatre Royal Plymouth
29 November – 14 January 2017

Get ready to meet an eccentric Emperor who loves clothes more than anything! But despite a wardrobe the size of Paris, he hasn’t got a stitch to wear for his Birthday! A new outfit must be found! When two ‘designers’ come to town with a promise to create him an outfit that's "never been seen before", our eccentric Emperor doesn't quite realise the spectacle he is about to make.

Populated with puppets, music and song, this inventive and energetic production is told in true Stuff and Nonsense style; with unending energy, great storytelling and, as always, a show for all the family.

Following their sell-out shows, Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, The Elves and The Shoemaker, The Enormous Turnip and The Little Red Hen, the dazzling Stuff and Nonsense return with this romp through a classic, eccentric tale inspired by the Muppets, Danny Kaye and good old family movies.

This new adaptation of the well-known tale, written and directed by Niki McCretton, is a brilliant mix of ingenious puppetry, music and mischievous moments for everyone in the family aged three and a lot older!

Leading early-years performance expert Niki McCretton brings together a new creative team to present an enormously entertaining show.

Tickets are priced from £12-13 and can be booked online at www.theatreroyal.com or by calling the Theatre Royal Plymouth Box Office on 01752 267222. Concessions are available.
