Ahead of all the great family films coming to screens this summer, Vue Entertainment asked the public about their perfect day out with the family.

Unsurprisingly some of the nation’s favourite activities include a day at the beach and the park with their loved ones.

However, 60% of parents in the South West would choose a trip to the cinema with their family over going to the zoo, swimming pool or a theme park - beating the national average.

Furthermore when parents in Bristol were asked who they like to visit the cinema with, it was their children who came out on top at 42% according to research conducted by Vue*. 69% of the nation’s parents think of their children over themselves when planning a trip.

Money was voted one of the biggest considerations when planning a day out - 92% of the nation’s voters said that they take advantage of deals and offers to help with the costs of family days out.

It’s clear that cinema trips are more popular with families now than ever before and 73% of people say the cinema experience is improving. To celebrate this Vue is making it easier than ever for families to enjoy these films on the big screen. From now through to the 12th September, when accompanied by a child, every adult visiting a Vue cinema across the UK will pay the price of a child’s ticket*.

Codie Entwistle, Film Content Manager at Vue Entertainment commented, "Children love the cinema! When we asked parents what activities their children enjoy, 70% of them named the cinema as an activity their kids enjoy. With this summer featuring an array of brilliant family films we are celebrating by inviting all adults to pay child prices only.”

To be eligible for the Family Ticket, groups must contain a minimum of one child or teen and one adult – everyone in the group will pay a child’s price. Redeemable at www.myvue.com or ask for the Family Ticket in any Vue cinema. The Family Ticket is available for all U, PG and 12A films in 2D from now until 12th September 2016.  3D films and upgrades will be subject to additional charges.
