Popular Devon based Theatre Company Above Bounds are delighting audiences this Christmas with The Elves & The Shoemaker, their theatrical retelling of the Grimms Brothers classic story.

This magical, heart warming and interactive show for 3-7s and their families will be in Plymouth (22 December 2018) and Great Torrington (11–12 December 2018) as part of a South West tour. This enchanting tale features original music, mischievous puppets and lots of laughs.

The company have been making imaginative theatre for children since it formed in 2014.  Founded by Devon-born actress and producer Helen Bovey and actor and writer George Boundy, the pair first created this show for a tour of libraries, selling-out in Plymouth and Exeter last Christmas. With two mischievous elves, a set designed by Chloe Benbow and musical score by Grace Hancock, the show is hitting the road again this winter.

Helen, who also plays the Shoemaker, said: 'We wanted to make a show that would introduce even the youngest to live theatre, in a fun and relatable way. We have retold this popular tale with a female shoemaker, bringing it up to date for audiences in 2018.'

So cobble on down to The Plough Arts Centre, Great Torrington and Ocean Studios, Plymouth to see Above Bounds bring the much-loved Christmas tale to life. The show also features voice over performances from members of the Plough Arts Centre Youth Theatre, who were thrilled to get involved in this festive treat.
