BMT receives top award for being a 'Forces Friendly' employer

BMT DEFENCE AND SECURITY UK HAS RECEIVED THE UK MINISTRY OF DEFENCE’S (MOD) 2020 EMPLOYER RECOGNITION SCHEME GOLD AWARD FOR ITS WORK SUPPORTING RESERVISTS AND THE ARMED FORCES.

The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) honours employers with Gold, Silver and Bronze awards for their level of support to the Armed Forces and for aligning their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.

Simon Gould, Managing Director said: “BMT has a proud history working with the military and this award is recognition of the work we have done to support ex-Service personnel in making the transition into civilian life. It also reflects our support to Reservists, both for ongoing training commitments and operational deployment.”

BMT recognises the contribution the Armed Forces make to the nation through their service and has signed the Armed Forces Covenant, to pledge our support of the Armed Forces Community. As part of our pledge, we support: the employment of young and old veterans; our employees who choose to be members of the Reserve Forces and our local cadet units, either in the local community or local schools.

Andy Howell, Principal Cyber Security Consultant who served with the Royal Navy and is now a Reservist said: “I am proud of what I have achieved with the Royal Navy and what I continue to achieve at BMT. I would recommend BMT to service leavers as a company that not only appreciates them but serves and supports the wider Armed Forces community.”

BMT recognises the leadership and technical skills that military personnel develop during their service, such as problem-solving and working under pressure, prepares them for our business environment, and we are proud to count them amongst our employees.
