Devon and Cornwall Police will be supporting Plymouth Pride, a local family- friendly lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) festival in the heart of the city on Saturday (13th August).

LGBT officers will join the parade in the festival and will have a stall on The Hoe where the main event will be held from 1pm.

Local policing team officers and the Diverse Communities Team will also be present, and the new Devon and Cornwall Police LGBT Network flag will be flown on Charles Cross police station in recognition of Plymouth Pride.

The newly-named Devon & Cornwall LGBT Network is a staff support group working with colleagues and communities embracing LGBT equality from a policing perspective.

It reflects the diverse communities of Devon and Cornwall, offering support and advice. The reporting of hate crime and incidents is actively encouraged. You can follow them on Twitter for updates on the day - @DCP_LGBT www.twitter.com/dcp_lgbt.
