A LEGAL executive from Devon has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award.

Caroline Packer, from Ivybridge, is one of two finalists for the highly prized gong at the CILEx awards being held next month (September).

CILEx is the leading professional body for chartered legal executives, legal practitioners and paralegals and its awards are fiercely contested.

The ambitious businesswoman has built up her own successful company from scratch.

Since it’s launch nine years ago, DMR Collation Ltd now boasts an expert team of 14 and last year moved into larger premises at Lee Mill Bridge in Ivybridge.

Mum-of-two Caroline is hoping to clinch the title of Visionary Leadership Award at the CILEx National Awards in London on September 5.

It is the latest accolade in a growing list of her achievements.

Managing director Caroline founded DMR Collation Ltd with the express purpose of providing a reliable, professional and cost-effective legal support service to personal injury and clinical negligence lawyers in the collation and analysis of records.

Since she founded the business, it has grown beyond all expectations.

Caroline said: ‘I am so proud to have been recognised as a finalist for this award.

‘It is a major recognition for the the work we do to help individuals and what we do as a company.

‘This award rewards executives who provide exemplary service, advice and support to those seeking access to justice.

‘This is a sentiment which is at the entire ethos of my company.’

The CILEx awards were very highly contested with more than 350 nominations across the 14 categories.

To get to the final hurdle, Caroline had to demonstrate her hard work and passion as well as ensuring a consistently high service is provided by her company.

Competition was fierce and the standards were exceptionally high in these sought-after awards.

CILEx chief executive Victoria Hurdley said the independent judging panel congratulated CILEx on both the high calibre of nominees and the quality of nominations received.

The CILEx National Awards were launched last year to celebrate the exceptional talent, innovation and achievement of CILEx members, supporters and stakeholders.

Following the announcement of the two finalists in this category, the winner will be exclusively revealed at the CILEx National Awards Ceremony on September 5 2019 at Madame Tussauds in London.

The awards will be hosted by Claudia Winkleman alongside the CILEx chief executive officer Linda Ford.

This is by no means the first time Caroline has tasted industry-wide recognition.

Caroline was the the recipient of the CILEx President’s Award in 2017.

She was shortlisted for the same CILEx Visionary Leadership Award last year in 2018 and this year was also shortlisted for the CILEx Legal Expert award.

She was shortlisted for the award of Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx) of the year 2019 at the Devon & Somerset Law Society’s Legal Awards and DMR Collation were Highly Commended for the second year running in the category of Supporting the Industry (1-25 employees) at the Modern Law Awards 2019.
