Celebrity chef and restauranteur Marco Pierre White (MPW) is bringing his nationally renowned Steakhouse Bar & Grill to Plymouth this March 2017.

Marco will bring his celebrated style to the Plymouth skyline, with the new restaurant located on the top floor of the Holiday Inn Plymouth on Armada Way, soon to be rebranded to a Crowne Plaza.

The 160-capacity restaurant is to become a must-visit for hotel guests and local food lovers alike. Diners can expect signature MPW steaks, timeless English and French classics, and a comprehensive selection of premium cocktails, all delivered with Marco’s unique flair.

The Steakhouse Bar & Grill menu is exclusively curated by Marco himself. To suit all tastes, it typically includes a mix of childhood favourites and modern day delicacies – ranging from Welsh Rarebit and Chicken Kiev, to Baked Camembert and a selection of 28-day aged native breed steaks. Marco’s ethos is all about classic dishes, simply cooked using the best locally sourced ingredients.

The opening announcement follows an agreement between Black & White Hospitality Ltd, which owns a number of Marco’s restaurant brands, and Valor Hospitality Europe. Valor Hospitality Europe, the management company behind the Holiday Inn Plymouth as well as 18 other hotels in the UK, currently operates two other MPW steakhouses in Chester and Liverpool.

Marco, a co-owner of Black and White Hospitality, said: “The South West is such a beautiful part of the country. Having opened a restaurant in Bristol, Exeter, and now Plymouth, I’m incredibly excited to spend more time in the region, and to watch this new restaurant unfold.

“My restaurants are not stuffy and pretentious; instead they are about enjoying your evening, with excellent food and drink in luxurious, relaxed surroundings and quite simply having a good time.

“That’s the kind of experience that our guests in Plymouth can look forward to, with something to suit every taste and budget. I call it affordable glamour and we hope it’s an experience our guests will want to return to again and again.”

Nick Taplin, CEO of Black & White Hospitality, said: “After the success we’ve had working with Valor Hospitality across the country, we’re certain this latest partnership at the new Crowne Plaza hotel will be a resounding success. Pairing with such a reputable and professional hotel is perfect for the MPW brand – they echo our ethos and goals exactly.  I am looking forward to bringing the Steakhouse brand to Plymouth and to add a further 4th rooftop restaurant to our portfolio.”

Brian McCarthy, Managing Director at Valor Hospitality Europe said: “Marco Pierre White is such a huge personality, not just culinary circles, but internationally. Our new Crowne Plaza hotel will be the perfect venue for his steakhouse, with its stunning sea views over the Hoe to Cornwall from our skyline location. It will be a must-visit destination to eat, drink and stay.”

Holiday Inn Plymouth located on Armada Way is currently undergoing refurbishment works to transform to a Crowne Plaza hotel. The hotel will benefit from extensive investment and as well as the new MPW Steakhouse will see all of the hotels bedrooms upgraded and is due to rebrand April 2017 after the opening of the new restaurant.
