Staff at Stagecoach South West’s Plymouth depot are getting into the Christmas spirit by supporting St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth ‘Festive Friday’ fun day on 16 December.

Drivers will be making donations to don their best Christmas jumpers for the day - with some even dressing up as Santa and snowmen. Drivers will also be asking customers to donate any spare change they may have to support this worthwhile cause.

Driver Dave Tokley commented: “We’ve always got a fundraising tin for St Luke’s at the depot but this year thought it would be fun to get more involved and hopefully raise a smile - as well as some money -from our customers.”

Robert Maltby, Head of Communications and Marketing at St Luke’s, added: “It’s great to see businesses such as Stagecoach getting behind our Festive Friday and I can’t wait to see all the drivers out in their jumpers on the big day. Thank you for your generous support Stagecoach.”

The money raised from Festive Friday helps St Luke’s provide care for over 3,200 patients and their families across Plymouth, the Moors, South Hams and southeast Cornwall each year. This is either in people’s own homes, at Derriford Hospital or at the St Luke’s specialist unit in Turnchapel.

Stagecoach will be running buses across the Christmas holidays, except for Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Full details of holiday services are available at www.stagecoachbus.com where customers can also plan their journeys across the holiday period.
