Launched in 2007, Cornish Gems set out to fulfil a niche in the holiday letting market, bringing Cornwall's luxurious holiday homes, cottages and apartments together under one aspirational brand. It was an astute move by Managing Co-Directors and budding entrepreneurs Julianne Shelton and Nadia Macer-Wright, who identified a gap between demand and provision at the higher end of the market.
Utilising the knowledge and understanding of the market that has delivered success in Cornwall, devongems.com will follow the same blueprint as the Cornish brand; providing property owners in Devon with the same access to the luxury market along with the benefits of a fully established and highly recognised luxury holiday lettings agency - from expert marketing through to sound rental advice.
The expansion has been a year in the planning, with the decision to go ahead subject to careful market research.

Over the last 8 years Cornish Gems have continued to innovate, driving their luxury Cornish brand and great customer service to new levels.
With a fast growing portfolio, increased demand for their fully managed service in Cornwall and expansion into Devon, Cornish Gems has invested in a move to larger premises within Threemilestone Industrial Estate, on the edge of Truro.
The significant expansion into the 4,000 sq ft premises will facilitate the company's growth objectives for the next 5-10 years, whilst providing an inspiring space for the workforce to carry out their roles effectively.
Julianne continued: "Entrepreneurship is at the heart of our core values which creates the perpetual drive for us to consider new marketing initiatives to further develop our brand and market share."
Nadia added by saying: "The new office, the expansion into Devon and other current initiatives such as the redevelopment of bespoke quality standards (Gem Ratings) for our properties, demonstrate our ambition to excel within our industry by continuously striving for excellence."

The hunt is now on for luxury holiday properties in Devon located by the sea: "There are plenty of fantastic locations and properties with that ‘wow' factor," Julianne continued.
