The Shearings Hotel Group, an award-winning UK-based hotel operator with hotels all along the South West Coast Path, has teamed up with the South West Coast Path Association to help guests enjoy the coastline and offer great breaks for walkers.

The two Shearings hotel brands, Bay Hotels and Coast & Country Hotels, specialise in leisure breaks and are found in stunning locations around the UK.

The partnership will enable guests, staying at both hotel brands in the south west region, to access walks specifically suited to their abilities along the 630 miles of stunning South West Coast Path.

Vince Flower, Managing Director of the Shearings Hotel Group is delighted to be working with the Association. He says: “Bay and Coast & Country Hotels are located close to some of the best walks in the UK, and in the south west that means fantastic access to the South West Coast Path.

"We know that many of our guests enjoy a walk along the coast while staying with us, and this partnership will ensure they can find their perfect walk from the hotel much more easily, be it a gentle stroll or something more challenging.

"In addition, it will help us to attract customers looking for unique hotel stays that allow them to experience the coastline and enjoy a more active holiday.”

He adds: “The South West Coast Path is a key asset for the region’s tourism businesses as it attracts millions of visitors who come to walk it every year, and we are thrilled to work with the Association to promote this fabulous south west attraction.”

The Coast Path is worth an estimated £486m to the South West’s tourism economy with around 8.7m people walking it every year. It’s clear that the value of nature based tourism and outdoor recreation is on the rise and is in fact outperforming the tourism sector as a whole.

Ken Carter, Vice Chairman of the Association said: “It’s fantastic that businesses such as this, which cater for the many people visiting the region, recognise the value of the Coast Path to their business.

"In partnering with us for the coming year, The Shearings Hotel Group in the form of Bay Hotels and Coast & Country Hotels is not only benefitting customers by providing walk information; they are also supporting the work that the Association does to promote and protect the Coast Path.

"By working together in this way we can ensure that many more people can access this beautiful coastline in future.”

Guests of the Shearings Hotel Group at both Bay and Coast & Country Hotels will benefit from special offers on future bookings if they decide to become a member of the South West Coast Path Association.

Existing members of the Association will also be able to take up the special offer being made available to encourage more people to visit the region and take a walk along the South West Coast Path, while helping to protect it for future generations to enjoy.
