HLM Architects Plymouth have won a 'Sustainable Construction New Build' award at the Cornwall Sustainability Awards 2013 for their work on Brannel School.

The aim of Cornwall Sustainability Awards is to encourage, reward and gain recognition for some of the excellent work businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are doing to improve their sustainability.

The ‘Sustainable Construction New Build’ category was sponsored by Lantoom Quarry and focused on applicants who have constructed a building where they have addressed the following issues: energy, water, materials, waste, pollution, maintenance, ecology, health, access & equalities, communities, and the local economy.

HLM attended the Awards ceremony held in Newquay on Friday 6th December, with stiff competition, namely Heartlands and Treliske Innovation Centre.
