This year’s highly anticipated Great Taste award winners have just been announced and Buckfastleigh-based Luscombe Drinks is once again celebrating success. Winning a total of 11 stars at the coveted nationwide awards, which are credited as the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink awards, Luscombe Drinks has now won 58 stars since 2003.

Luscombe Drinks’ Mostly Devon Apple Juice, which is produced using ancient organic Devon apple varieties, brought home two stars with judges’ praise for the flavoursome juice including ‘a good rounded juice with plenty of character’ and ‘very refreshing’. One star winning drinks included their 32cl soft drinks Wild Elderflower Bubbly, Damascene Rose Bubbly, Hot Ginger Beer and Sicilian Lemonade, their 32cl Organic Devon Cider and 24cl juices English Apple Juice, Apple & Apricot Juice, Apple Juice with Ginger and Apple Juice with Elderflower.

Commenting on the achievement at the Great Taste awards, Gabriel David, chairman and founder of Luscombe Drinks says: “Both my team and I are immensely proud of this achievement and are thrilled our hard work and dedication has been acknowledged. The Great Taste awards are particularly important to us as they are blind tasted and judged by experts in the food and drink sector. They are purely judged on taste.” Gabriel continues: “Our aim this year was to take our total Great Taste star count to over 50, which we are delighted to have achieved. We have now been awarded 58 stars in total.”

A family business based on a farm in Buckfastleigh, Luscombe Drinks takes pride in transforming fruit into an award-winning range of 23 soft drinks, juices, crushes, ginger beers, bubblies and cider. Their drinks are crafted with meticulous attention to detail using the finest natural organic ingredients. They are passionate about using fruit to get their flavours – you won’t find any additives, synthetics or concentrates in any of the drinks in Luscombe Drinks’ range.

Recognised as a stamp of excellence among consumers and retailers alike the Great Taste awards are judged by over 400 of the most demanding palates belonging to food critics, chefs, cooks, restaurateurs, producers and a host of food writers and journalists. Great Taste is widely acknowledged as the most respected food accreditation scheme for artisan and speciality food producers. This year there were 10,000 Great Taste entries.
