One of the country’s leading romantic hotels, Glazebrook House in South Devon, has just been shortlisted for a host of both national and regional awards, including the Condé Nast Johansens’ Awards for Excellence, Devon Life Food and Drink Awards and LandLove magazine Awards.

Glazebrook House Hotel has been recognised as one of only three finalists by the prestigious 2016 Condé Nast Johansens’ Awards for Excellence, in their ‘small and exclusive’ category. This luxury hotel has also been nominated as one of three finalists in the Devon Life Food and Drink Awards’ shortlist for having the ‘best hotel restaurant’ in Devon. Additionally, LandLove magazine has included Glazebrook House Hotel as a finalist in their award for ‘Britain’s favourite place to eat’.

Commenting on these recent successes, owner Pieter Hamman says: “We are incredibly excited and proud to be up for nominations in such a selection of esteemed awards. The whole Glazebrook team has worked so hard since our journey began last year, it’s wonderful to be being recognised in this way.” Pieter continues: “Our number one priority in everything we do at the Glazebrook is to ensure our guests have a memorable time, and to know that each of these award shortlists have been made up by public vote is humbling.”

Created to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across the hotels, spas and venues in their collection, the Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence are a trusted mark of quality, recognised by luxury consumers and travel professionals alike. As one of three finalists in their category, the Glazebrook House Hotel is very excited to be considered amongst such a high calibre of hotels.

The hotel was also awarded a ‘Certificate of Excellence’ from Trip Advisor in the summer. In addition, the Glazebrook House Hotel restaurant was recently included for the first time in the Waitrose Good Food Guide 2016 and named one of the country’s most romantic places to stay in the Sunday Times’ Ultimate 100 British Hotels Guide, which has just appeared in print.

The restaurant’s new head chef, Dan Bennetts, was trained by Michelin starred Anton Piotrowski and the food is of an incredibly high standard. With more exciting news in the pipeline (watch this space!), the Glazebrook House Hotel’s restaurant is set to have a very good year ahead.

The eight rooms, inspired by Alice in Wonderland and created with the visual brilliance of interior designer Timothy Oulton, are all unique and create an atmosphere which lends itself to the magic of the hotel. It really has to be seen to be believed.

Revamped in early 2014, there’s no doubt that this boutique hotel will ‘surprise, delight and enrich’. Book early for the months ahead, with all the recent successes and more on the cards you won’t want to be disappointed so secure a room now and experience why it’s rapidly moving into the country’s hottest and most desirable hotel number one spot.
